Significant search lag

I just had an initial consultation for a child with a genetic syndrome, which resulted in a repertorization of 138 rubrics. By the end of the session, the search speed became incredibly slow, and the lag was frustrating enough to disrupt my workflow.

A few questions:

1. Are there any "tricks" or settings to prevent this kind of slowdown when a case grows this large?

2. Would it help to split rubrics into different clipboards? Specifically, does the search engine run faster if the "active" clipboard has fewer rubrics, or is the lag caused by the total number of rubrics in the entire case?
